my Father was a scout with the 77th Infantry in the Pacific during WWII. The 77th fought in Guam, Leyte, the Ryukas, Ie Shima, and Okinawa. He was awarded the bronze star at Leyte and a silver star on Ie Shima. He was awarded the purple heart in Okinawa. He died in 2002, but I am sure he would like this song.
